MPP Steve Clark announces $2.5 million going towards long-term care homes in Leeds-Grenville region

Wellington House in Prescott has received tens of thousands of dollars in funding from the Ontario government.

In an announcement October 21st, Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MPP Steve Clark says the money comes from $2.5-million being put towards multiple long-term care homes in the area. The goal with this funding is to increase the amount of direct care people in these homes receive from workers and nurses.

MPP Clark says that the investment is part of the Ontario government’s larger plans to put $4.9-billion towards long-term care home staffing across the province by 2025. “This is part of our government’s plan to hire thousands of new staff over the next four years,” says Clark, “to ensure those living in long-term care get the high-quality care they need and deserve.”

Wellington House is receiving $213,000 from this year’s investment. An additional $1.3-million will go towards the manor over the next four years.
