100 Women Who Care North Grenville donates $2,500+ to Connect Youth, other local charities

A local charity is receiving hundreds of dollars in a donation from a Kemptville-based organization.

100 Women Who Care North Grenville, a community group raising money for local charities, has announced a $2,100 donation to Connect Youth, a Prescott-based charity dedicated to youth services. The money is going towards providing temporary housing for homeless kids in Leeds Grenville.

The organization has also announced $250 donations are being made to Victoria’s Quilts Kemptville, which provides handmade quilts to local cancer patients,  and Habitat for Humanity Kemptville, which builds homes using volunteer labor.

The group raises money by taking $100 donations from members quarterly, and asking members to nominate local charities. Three are selected at random, and representatives from the chosen charities give presentations outlining where the money will go. Members of the organization vote on which charity they feel deserves the largest donation, and the winner receives most of the money from that quarter.

The next meeting is scheduled for November 5th, at 7:00 pm. Visit the 100 Women Who Care North Grenville website for more details.
