A Bunch of People Arts and Events hosting “True Stories” fundraiser for House of Lazarus

A live event for slam poetry lovers and storytellers is coming to Winchester.

A Bunch Of People Arts and Events, a non-profit organization that partners with artists and performers to raise money for charity, is hosting a fundraising event at Winchester United Church. The “True Stories” event will feature local performers, including Rockland District High School teacher Sandra Mcneill and Algonquin College professor Jed Looker, telling stories from their lives set to live music.

The event is scheduled for October 16th, starting at 7:00 PM. Tickets cost $15 for adults, or $10 for children ages 13 to 18. The organization says the event will be “PG-13”, and don’t recommend bringing younger children.

All proceeds from the event are going towards the House of Lazarus, an outreach organization that runs food banks and second-hand stores in Mountain and Ingleside. Visit A Bunch of People’s Facebook page for details on how to purchase tickets.
