Leeds Grenville conducting “point-in-time count” survey of homeless people this week

Surveys are being conducted throughout Leeds and Grenville to gather data about local homeless people. The United Counties are conducting what they call a point-in-time count, which they describe as a “one-day snapshot of homelessness” on their website.

The counties are hoping to target more than just people living on the streets, but also people temporarily living with friends, people living in shelters, and couch surfers. The counties have partnered with a number of local organizations to help gather data and reach more people, including the South Grenville Food Bank.

An in-person event for people to come together and conduct the survey is being held at the South Grenville Food Bank in Prescott on the 22nd, starting at 11:00 in the morning. Anyone who can’t attend but still wants to participate can visit one of the participating organizations from the 21st to the 24th to do the survey. Visit the Leeds Grenville website for more information.
