South Grenville Food Bank partners with Tim Hortons for Smile Cookies Campaign

Your local food bank has begun a major fundraising event.

The South Grenville Food Bank has partnered with local Tim Hortons locations to raise money with this year’s Smile Cookies campaign. 100 per cent of proceeds from Smile Cookies bought in South Grenville restaurants will go towards the Food Bank this year. Bonnie Pidgeon Coogler, the Food Bank’s Executive Director, says that the campaign is part of a larger effort to restructure the way the organization raises money.

“Our fundraising model has changed so much because of COVID,” Bonnie says in an exclusive interview with MyPrescottNow.com, “we used to be out in the community and do fundraisers all year-round, and engage with people. That has changed.”

“We’re starting to be able to do a little bit, but life is not normal anymore. But that’s okay, we’ve adapted to the new normal. That’s why we’re asking people to take a bite out of hunger, one cookie at a time.”

The cookies will be available at all Tim Hortons restaurants until September 19th. Cookies are one dollar each.
