Prescott Township officials say they are looking to recruit more volunteer firefighters.

Volunteers need to be at least 18, have a valid driver’s license, be physically fit enough to do the job, have a flexible schedule, and have no past criminal convictions related to firefighting.

You can visit the township website for information on how to apply.

Meanwhile, Mayor Brett Todd recently thanked the town’s fire department and volunteers for their help with the train derailment incident on September 2nd. “Special credit to our fire department,” Todd said in a council meeting this week. “They always do a great job, but with something like this you really see their mettle, what they can do in an emergency.”
