South Grenville municipalities announce launch event for new bus route

A special launch event to celebrate the new River Route bus route has been set for August 27th.

The event will feature MPP Steve Clark, a representative from the Eastern Ontario Leadership Council, members of council from Prescott, Brockville, Agusta, and Edwardsburgh Cardinal, and local business and organization figures.

At 11:30 a.m, all attendees will board a City of Brockville bus at the Dollarama at Parkdale Avenue and North Augusta Road, and ride to three stops for photo opportunities. The bus will stop at the Invista Plant in Augusta at 11:45, the clock tower at King and Centre street in Prescott at 12:00, and finally the Giant Tiger distribution centre in Cardinal at 12:20. After the last stop, the bus will return to Brockville.

The River Route is the name for a new bus route that will begin running August 30th. The bus will move along County Road 2 from Brockville to Edwardsburgh Cardinal, stopping at popular workplaces in Brockville, Agusta, Prescott and Edwardsburgh-Cardinal on a two-hour loop every day, starting at 5:30 in the morning in Brockville, and continuing for twelve hours. Tickets to ride on the River Route bus will cost five dollars individually, or 40 dollars in a pack of ten.
