The local health unit is closing its booking centre for COVID-19 vaccines. The Leeds, Grenville, and Lanark Health Unit announced Tuesday that the booking centre will close on Friday, August 27th at 4:00 p.m.
Unit Medical Officer of Health Dr. Paula Stewart said the booking centre is closing due to a significant drop in the number of calls received.
“The Leeds, Grenville & Lanark Booking Centre was instrumental in supporting residents to book appointments for COVID-19 vaccine close to home,” Dr. Paula said. “Support from Lanark County and the United Counties made this possible, and I offer my thanks to them and the staff that supported this important work.”
The online vaccine booking portal will remain open, while walk-in clinics and pharmacies throughout Leeds, Grenville, and Lanark will continue to provide vaccines.
People eligible for third doses of their vaccine can speak with their healthcare provider for details.
