MPP Clark to speak against hydro rate increase in Queen’s Park today

After last winter’s smart meter debacle, residents of Leeds Grenville have another hydro rate increase to look forward to, November 1st. MPP Steve Clark is speaking out against the hike today in Queen’s Park.

A hydro rate increase recently approved by the Ontario Energy Board means the average Leeds Grenville resident will pay another $53 a year. MPP Steve Clark says this is  forcing some of his constituents to choose between heating their homes or putting food on the table.

Clark says we can also expect a follow-up to the Ombudsman’s report on the smart meters and hydro billing, in the near future.

Clark says instead of forging ahead with a plan to sell-off Hydro One, which will increase rates even more, the Premier should fix her government’s broken energy policies.
