Downtown Prescott BIA Inviting Residents To Rediscover The RiverWalk District

Residents are being invited to learn more about the businesses in downtown Prescott.

Board Chair for the Downtown Prescott BIA Kevin Bunce says they are launching their Rediscover the RiverWalk District initiative, in collaboration with the town and the South Grenville Chamber of Commerce.

Bunce says the goal of this program is to help downtown businesses during each step of the province’s Roadmap to Reopen.

“This is also to help the public come out and rediscover downtown Prescott,” Bunce said. “Lots of beautification happening down here right now so it’s a good opportunity to come out and support local businesses.”

The program asks residents to keep an eye on the BIA’s Facebook page for a post that features a ‘Shop Local’ hoodie inside a local business.

Once you see the post, you can visit that location, walk in, and say “I’m ready to Rediscover our RiverWalk District”, and you could win the hoodie as well as $25 Prescott Proud Dollars.

Bunce says it’s all being done to reinvigorate businesses in the downtown area, who’ve struggled through the pandemic.

“Residents can see some places they haven’t seen or don’t know they’re here, believe it or not that happens,” Bunce said. “We don’t have a deadline, so we could alter this program based on what we hear from the community.”

More information on the program can be found on the Downtown Prescott BIA’s Facebook page.
