The cheerleading team from Chimo Elementary School took the title at the Upper Canada District School Board Cheer Competition last week. The Chimo squad’s routine earned a top score of 82.33 per cent at Wednesday’s event, edging out an impressive performance by the team from Gananoque Intermediate and Secondary School by .33 percent.
Judges rewarded Chimo for a clean performance but judges say the elementary school’s victory really hinged on their high level of confidence and sense of excitement.
