Jeanette Johnston Named New Manager Of Leeds Grenville Small Business Centre

The Leeds-Grenville Small Business Centre is introducing a new Manager for the organization.

Jeanette Johnston has been named to the role, taking over for the outgoing Wendy Onstein, who retired on April 30th, after 16 years in the position.

Johnston brings 6 years experience as the centre’s Business Development Coordinator and a depth of knowledge of its services.

She says she wouldn’t be in this position, if it weren’t for the guidance and support of Onstein.

“She mentored me and taught me many great lessons,” Johnston said. “I’ve taken my knowledge that I’ve gained over the years through her and my education and I’m looking forward to applying that to this new position.”

Johnston says she has a strong interest in building the economic ecosystem with small businesses and other organizations and services in the region to provide cohesive and robust results attracting new residents and businesses to the area.

She adds it’s her goal to make all of the centre’s services accessible, and provide meaningful connections in the community to prospective business owners.

“We want to provide mentorship, programming, advice, and education on anything small business,” Johnston said. “So if you’re looking at starting a business, growing a business, or even exiting a business, we can help with all of that.”
