Police charge two with impaired in South Dundas

Two men are facing charges after drinking and getting behind the wheel in South Dundas on the weekend. Just before 8:30pm on Saturday, police encountered a parked vehicle on Willow Road. Investigation showed the man at the wheel had been drinking. The 35-year-old local man was arrested and charged with care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, with over 80 milligrams blood alcohol.

Around 11:00pm the same night, police responded to a traffic complaint on the 401. A vehicle had been travelling west in the eastbound lanes, almost crashing into an oncoming vehicle before stopping in the median. Police stopped and arrested the 49-year-old man from Ottawa who was driving. He is charged with impaired and more than 80 milligrams blood alcohol, as well as dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. Both men have court dates in Morrisburg next month.
