OPP Lay Impared Driving, Assault Charges on ATV Rider After Collision with House

Grenville County OPP responded to an ATV collision that has resulted in an impaired driving charge.

The detachment was called in by paramedics last night after an ATV struck a house on Walter Street in Cardinal. Police say the operator became combative and assaulted one of the officers. The driver was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 28-year-old from South Dundas has been charged with assault of a police officer and two counts of impaired driving. OPP is taking the opportunity to remind drivers to plan ahead when consuming alcohol, like getting a cab, taking public transit or staying the night.
