The 3M plant in Brockville will now begin shipping out N95 masks.
The plant will ship out over 700,000 respirators this week, and will go to health care, education and public sector locations. The Ontario and Canadian Governments reached a deal with 3M last august to produce 55 million respirators for frontline workers across Canada. Officials say the Brockville plant will produce enough respirators to meet the demand in the country and all of North America.
They also say that the contract has created 30 jobs throughout the region
