Leeds Grenville OPP Auxiliary looking to recruit new volunteer members

The Leeds Grenville OPP Auxiliary Unit is recruiting about half a dozen new members. Constable Rob Prophet says a variety of people might be ideal for this volunteer position, from young people looking at a career in policing, to retired people looking to give back to the community.

As a member of the OPP Auxiliary, you will be asked to give about 15 hours of your time per month. Auxiliary recruits are also sent to the training centre in Orillia for a week.

Prophet says auxiliary activities cover a number of different areas of community policing including patrols, R.I.D.E initiatives, seatbelt checks and ceremonial duties.
