$3.25 Million Provincial Boost for Local Community Paramedicine

In an effort to help seniors on the waitlist for a long term care spot, the Province is investing money to expand Paramedicine in Leeds Grenville.

MPP Steve Clark announced the $3.25 million will help seniors stay safe while living in the comfort of their own homes. Clark says this is in an effort to help end hallway health care and provide care for seniors. The money will go to things like in-home health services, home visits and in-home testing, monitoring of patients to prevent emergency situations, education and connecting patients with families.

Jeffery Carss, the Cheif of the Leeds Grenville Paramedic Service says the program will keep those on the waitlist in their homes as long as possible, and aims to work with health system partners to coordinate the service.
