May 1st, hydro rates went up again. Leeds Grenville MPP Steve Clark says he’s received numerous reports from constituents that skyrocketing hydro bills are bleeding them dry. Clark stood up at Queen’s Park this week to request action.
Clark told the stories of a young mom who is forced to depend on the food bank to feed her family, because of her hydro bill. Another family says their bill has doubled since moving into their new home, making it unaffordable. Clark called upon the government to bring hydro rates under control and to give desperate Ontario families a break.
