Pedestrian pulls bag from Kemptville Creek holding human remains

Police confirm a body has been found in the area of County Road 20 and County Road 18 east of Bishop’s Mills in North Grenville. OPP Criminal Unit and Forensics say they are investigating a suspicious death.

Witnesses say a pedestrian pulled a bag containing the human remains out of the Kemptville Creek Wednesday evening.

Grenville County OPP Constable Cam Stewart confirms County Road 18 has reopened as of 6:00pm Thursday. County Road 20 between 18 and Patterson Corner’s Road is expected to remain closed until Friday afternoon while OPP Forensics continue their investigation of the area. The investigation is centred around the bridge where County Road 20 meets County Road 18, east of Bishops Mills.

This is where human remains were found in a duffel bag pulled from the creek by a local resident, Wednesday around 6:30pm.

More details on the age and gender of the victim are expected Friday.
