Charging Stations, Rural Transit Discussed During Prescott Town Council

The Town of Prescott is looking into a few projects for its residents.

A motion to look into a multi-town transit system was discussed by Prescott council last week. The town says they will direct staff to work with Brockville, Augusta Township and Edwardsburg Cardinal to put in a proposal. They will work on a submission to the Eastern Ontario Leadership Council that will hope to see a commuter service that runs from Brockville to Edwardsburg-Cardinal. The submission will be brought back to Council in January of next year.

And if you are an electric car owner, the Town of Prescott could make charging it easier. Town Council has directed staff to look into grants that would allow them to build charging stations in town. The town is now looking into federal funding through the Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program. No timeline as of yet has been put forward, nor a location on where these charging stations would be.
