Erin O’Toole, new Tory leader, visits riding

New Tory leader Erin O’Toole and Member of Parliament Michael Barrett toured the local area.

According to a media release, this was O’Toole’s first visit to a riding other than his own after his victory in the Conservative Party of Canada’s leadership race.

They met with local local leaders and business owners in Brockville and North Grenville, and stopped for lunch at 1000 Islands Pizza.

O’Toole was elected as Tory Leader by party membership on August 23rd, 2020. He says their Conservative team is here to fight for you and your family.

“Under Justin Trudeau, too many Canadians are falling through the cracks or barely getting by. As Prime Minister, I will lead a government that rebuilds our economy and creates long-term, good-paying jobs with ambitious national projects, infrastructure, and federal programs to make it easier for people to get ahead.”

Barrett says it was great to have O’Toole in the community again, talking about a vision for Canada that provides opportunities for Canadians during our post-COVID recovery, and the best
path forward for the residents and businesses in Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes.

The media release also says Barrett endorsed O’Toole’s bid for leadership, citing his experience and service to Canada in the Canadian Armed Forces and around the Cabinet table.

Barrett says O’Toole knows the challenges we face here but is well aware of strengths and successes. Barrett is looking forward to working with him and their unified team in the best interest of the community and Canada as a whole.
