KDH Board of Directors looking for new volunteer Director

The Kemptville District Hospital (KDH) Board of Directors is currently looking for a new volunteer Director.

According to a media release, the Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Hospital and guiding its future in the health system, the quality of patient care, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and regulatory obligations. The Board also determines the Hospital’s mission and strategic direction, and supports their advancement.

There are 12 volunteer members and four ex-officio members.

Candidates should have a commitment to community service and willingness to learn and work in a team environment. They must be interested in helping KDH build healthier communities and residence in the municipality is not a requirement. Previous experience on a non-profit board, especially in the health or social service sector, is an asset.

During the selection process, the Board will prioritize these strengths and experience: legal matters, home and community care, mental health and addictions, construction, and/or project management. Diversity is also an important factor in the selection process.

Board members can expect to spend a minimum of 10 to 12 hours per month attending meetings and performing committee work, according to the Board. The current committees of the KDH Board of Directors are Executive Committee, Governance, Fiscal Advisory Committee, Corporate Services, and Quality and Safety Committee.

The deadline to apply is September 2nd, 2020.
