It was a wild ride for commuters on Highway 401 this afternoon.
Leeds County OPP was called when a driver fled at a high rate of speed when an officer tried to stop the driver. Police say the vehicle was stolen and was travelling west on the 401 near Cardinal.
Police used a spike belt to stop the vehicle but not before it crashed into a cruiser and ended up going the wrong way in the westbound lanes.
Two other cruisers were also damaged in the pursuit but there are no serious injuries.
The driver remains in custody and charges are pending.
