On Monday, the Prescott Committee of the Whole voted five to two to stop supplying water to Edwardsburgh/Cardinal Township, when their current agreement expires in 2018. The ten year deal has been a bone of contention on more than one occasion due to the cost involved.
Prescott’s new Chief Administrative Officer Pierre Mercier has also called for a new water rates bylaw that will fully recover the costs of the water being sold to the township.
The topic could be up for a final vote as early as April 25th.
