OPP looking for suspect after Winchester detachment, nearby locations vandalized

Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP are asking for the public’s help in identifying an individual who vandalized a number of areas in Winchester.

Police say that on June 13th shortly after 4:30 am, an unknown individual approached the detachment building on St. Lawrence Street and threw a garbage barrel at a glass door. OPP also says that one of their cruisers was damaged in the incident. OPP Media Relations Coordinator Bill Dickson said that a nearby school and a business were also vandalized. Dickson says that while the incidents are suspected to be connected, it is not known for certain if they are at this time. OPP says that the detachment building remained secure and the suspect left the scene shortly afterwards.

Police have released a video in hopes that someone is able to identify the individual involved. A link to the video was posted to the OPP East Region’s Twitter.

Anyone with information is asked to call SD&G OPP at 1-888-310-1122. If you wish to remain anonymous you can contact crime stoppers as well at 1-800-222-8477.
