Search for missing teen underway on Lower Beverly Lake

Update: OPP say the search for a missing teen, on Lower Beverley Lake, has ended. Yesterday around one in the afternoon, members of the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit located the body of 18-year-old Brent Hennigar, from Kingston.

Police also say  there were actually two occupants in a canoe while two others were on a paddle board nearby, when the victim went overboard from the canoe and did not resurface.

The search involved OPP divers, the Leeds OPP Marine Unit and Rideau Lakes Fire Department vessel.

The Coroner’s Office will continue to investigate the circumstances of this incident.

The Leeds County OPP say the search is underway for a missing teen on Lower Beverly Lake.

Police say officers responded to a report that one person was missing on Lower Beverly Lake in Rideau Lakes Township, yesterday just after 2:15 pm.

The OPP say four people were out on a canoe when an 18-year-old went overboard. The remaining three occupants were able to make it back to shore.

The Rideau Lakes Fire Department and OPP Marine Unit attended to assist with the search.

The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit were notified and attending to continue in the ongoing search efforts.
