Recognizing the Smart, Strong & Bold Women of Leeds Grenville in 2016

The owner of Wendy’s Mobile Market is one of half a dozen “Smart, Strong & Bold Women of the Year”, according to Upper Canada Girls Incorporated. The women who have been selected as the 2016 Honourees show that through amazingly different routes, they have become leaders in their fields and are affecting positive change.

2016 Honourees:  Wendy Banks, promoter and purveyor of local agriculture (owner of Wendy’s Mobile Market  Jenn Coward, activist for de-stigmatizing mental health  Catherine Deplaedt, owner of two Canadian Tire Stores and a tireless volunteer  Patricia Markovich, successful professional and impactful community advocate  Dr. Janet Pegrum, respected Veterinarian, athlete and coach  Elizabeth Sahl, accomplished speaker for people with disabilities.

The event takes place Wednesday, May 4th at 6pm at the Aquatarium at Tall Ships Landing in Brockville. Tickets are $35 and include access to most exhibits, local entertainment, delicious desserts from the Tall Ships Waterfront Grille, cash bar and a silent auction of locally hand-made/sourced goods and services.
