Police investigate rash of break-ins around Kemptville

Police continue to investigate a number of break-ins that happened in Kemptville on Wednesday. At 3:30 Wednesday morning, suspects broke into the MacEwens gas bar and stole cigarettes. A light brown catering van stolen from a Clothier Street restaurant was recovered at the Park ‘n’ Ride on Highway 416 and County Road 19. It is believed to be connected to the break and enter at the gas station.

Sources say break-ins also happened at Fat Les’ Chip Stand, as well as at a landscaping company and a sign shop. Anyone with information on these crimes is asked to call police or submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
