UCDSB Postpones Grade 12 Graduations to June 2021

The UCDSB says that it agrees with the Minister of Educations request of postponing graduation ceremonies for this year’s grade 12 students.

In a release yesterday, the Board says that “Given the circumstances and the uncertainties of this global pandemic, and in consultation with public health authorities, the UCDSB has no option but to postpone June 2020 graduation ceremonies at all of our secondary schools and at our TR Leger School of Adult, Alternative and Continuing Education until June 2021.”

Each individual school’s Graduation Committee will then decide how they will honour their graduating class of 2020. Options may include a stand-alone ceremony for this years grads, or a combined celebration with the graduating class of 2021.

Moving the ceremonies will not impact the ability of students to graduate from high school as long as they have met the requirements to do so; and schools will stay in touch with students and families about the plans for this important event.
