The latest outbreak announced by The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit, is in the Maple View Lodge in Athens.
Both, the Health Unit and Lodge are working together to manage the outbreak.
One staff member and one resident have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Infection control measures under the Long Term Care Home Act have been put in place to manage the outbreak and are being monitored by the Health Unit.
According to the media release: The resident has been isolated in their room and the staff member is at home self-isolating.
Both are following the direction of public health and ministry requirements and all infection management protocols are in place to prevent the spread of this, or any other infection to others.
