UCDSB celebrates Education Week by staying connected

Education Week runs until Friday this year and is celebrated by school boards across Ontario.

The Upper Canada District School Board’s (UCDSB) theme this year is Staying Connected – to Learning and Each Other.

The school board says they have made it a priority to continue to stay connected to students and their families, supporting them in distance learning and checking in on their well-being.

Director of Education Stephen Sliwa says they want to continue to build on the caring relationships they’ve established with students and their families, to let them know they here for them.

“We need to stay connected – to the learning, to our friends, and to our communities. In doing so, we will be able to offer comfort and reassurance to others during a time that is unfamiliar and uncertain”

This week, the school board is encouraging students to reach out to a friend, teacher, other staff member or a family member that they have not connected with recently and share with them one thing they have learned over the last month.
