North Dundas man one of eleven charged in illegal cock-fighting ring

Several people have been charged in an illegal gaming sting. Around 10:00 Saturday morning, police responded to a report of live cock fighting at a property on Tolmies Corner Road in Moose Creek. Officers stopped the event and arrested eleven men. A number of roosters and some equipment were seized.

The men facing charges were from all over Ontario and Quebec. They are charged with causing damage or injury to an animal, failing to provide adequate food, water or shelter and cruelty to animals, encouraging fighting or baiting. The accused will be in a Cornwall courtroom in June. The investigation continues with the OSPCA. Anyone with information on this event is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122.
