Yesterday, the Thousand Islands Secondary School Radical Equity Movement Club hosted the Nu Norm Equity Event. The day featured keynote speeches from a member of the LGTBQ community and the HIV AIDS Regional Centre in Kingston.
Students also took part in school panel presentations, a discussion of safe and unsafe activities, and brainstorming sessions on activities for the upcoming International Day of Pink and beyond.
The goal of the event is to bring student advocates of equity and inclusion together to share successes, brainstorm ideas and engage in deeper learning about how to make our schools safer.
