In Question Period Wednesday, Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark called on the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport to immediately reinstate the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s capital grants program.
Clark says this funding is vital to Legions, community centres and other facilities operated by organizations in Leeds-Grenville and across the province. It is literally keeping a roof over their heads.
As a result, Clark said these organizations will be forced to spend more of their time raising funds for capital projects, taking time and money away from the community initiatives these dedicated volunteers support. Clark said the Wynne government made the decision to suspend the $25 million program without any consultation.
