In its annual report, Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario says it is looking at installing GPS and video on all school buses. STEO is also working on initiatives to upgrade bus route software, develop a driver handbook and focus on additional training for drivers, students and staff.
Another goal is to shorten ride times. The average ride time is 24.8 minutes but 2.2 percent of STEO students are on the bus for longer than sixty minutes one way.
