29 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Leeds, Grenville and Lanark

The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit is now reporting 29 confirmed cases of COVID-19. 

This represents an increase of nine new cases from yesterday. The Health Unit is posting daily updates of case numbers on its website at 2:30pm.

The first case in the region was made public last week. The Health Unit announced 14 more cases on Sunday, including an outbreak at a long-term care facility in Almonte, and five cases yesterday.

The Health Unit says of the nine new cases, one person is hospitalized, three are health care workers and five are isolating at home. 

The Health Unit is also reporting an outbreak of COVID-19 at the Carolina Retirement Residence in Perth. One resident and one staff member have tested positive for the virus. Infection control measures have been put in place to manage the outbreak and the situation is being monitored by the Health Unit.
