COVID-19 assessment centre opens in Brockville

A COVID-19 assessment centre is now up and running in Brockville. People can access testing at the Memorial Centre, located at 100 Magedoma Boulevard, starting today.

The assessment centre will be operating from 11:00 to 6:00pm daily, including weekends. It will be led by the Upper Canada Family Health Team, the Leeds Grenville Community Family Health Team, Athens District Family Health Team, Prescott Family Health Team, the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit, with the support of Brockville General Hospital.

Anyone who thinks they may have COVID-19 is encouraged to go to the Ministry of Health’s website and complete a self-assessment online.

Appointments will be made by referral only, which can be sent by your primary care provider or the Health Unit. Testing will only be performed on individuals who meet the current criteria, including symptoms of a cough, fever or shortness of breath, along with possible exposure history (ie. travel outside of the country / close contact with a suspected or confirmed case).

Individuals getting tested are asked to attend the appointment alone, if possible, to accommodate physical distancing.
