Kemptville Live Music Festival announces Saturday headliner: Colin James

The cat is out of the bag. The Saturday night headliner for the 2nd Annual Kemptville Live Music Festival is Canadian blues-rock icon Colin James.

In a remarkable career spanning nearly three decades, Colin James has released 16 studio albums as well a live recording and two compilation albums. His latest, Hearts on Fire from 2015, is further proof that he is Canadian blues-rock royalty and one of the country’s finest singer-songwriter-multi-instrumentalists and record producers Colin James’ career started off with a bang in 1988 when he and his band opened a series of shows for the one and only Stevie Ray Vaughan. That year, he also released his first album, the self-titled Colin James. This was recognized by his first Juno win as Most Promising Male Vocalist.

In the 1990’s Colin James and The Little Big Band were largely responsible for the revival of jump blues and swing and together they achieved national cult status in the process. Colin James is an inductee in the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame. He has won six Juno Awards including “Male Vocalist of the Year” and the “Best Producer” award for his efforts with The Little Big Band. He is the recipient of 17 Maple Blues Awards having most recently been honored in 2013 with “Entertainer of the Year”.
