Short film to feature Prescott business

Olde Magick is getting ready for some movie magic. The Prescott business, located on King Street, will be featured in a short film.

Owner Sherry Desnoyers says Ottawa-based filmmaker Kevin Preece approached her about using the location. She noted it’s exciting and she never thought, being open just shy of three years, that the wiccan shop would attract so much attention.

Preece is a director and writer, known for Horror Fan (2014), Roommates (2009), Polarity (2010) and 3 Kisses (2010). The Merrickville native has family in Prescott and Cardinal and stumbled across Olde Magick while in town over the holidays.

Preece explained it was the name that really struck him. He says if he shows the front window and the name, it would make sense to the audience that this is a place where you can get a voodoo doll or witchy materials.

Filming of Voodoo That You Do will take place in Prescott on March 15. Preece noted the plan is to get the film into the festival circuit sometime in May.
