Free presentation on teen anxiety in Kemptville tonight

The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario Parent Involvement Committee will be offering a free presentation on youth anxiety, open to members of the community, tonight. The presentation will take place at St. Michael Catholic High School in Kemptville, and will be live-streamed to three other satellite locations in Carleton Place, Russell and Cornwall.

The Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University will be the keynote speaker at the session. Dr. Jean Clinton will discuss typical childhood development and how the early signs of anxiety manifest in a problematic way. The presentation will also provide parents and teachers with tools to help their children and youth develop strategies to support anxiety disorders. The event is free and it begins at 6:30pm.

Dr. Clinton has been a consultant to children and youth mental health programs, child welfare, and primary care for nearly 30 years. Dr. Clinton was recently appointed as an education advisor to the Premier of Ontario and the Minister of Education.
