Augusta business broken into

An 18-year-old is facing numerous charges following a break-in.

Grenville County OPP officers were called out to a business on Second Concession Road in Augusta Township around 7:00am on February 12. Investigation indicated that at some point overnight, the culprit entered the business and stole two industrial sanders, crashing one into a ditch.

Officers also found a vehicle left on site that had been stolen from a repair shop in Spencerville. A second stolen vehicle was later located in Ottawa and the culprit was brought to the Prescott Detachment.

The accused is charged with four counts of theft over $5,000, three counts of theft under $5,000, operation of a vehicle while prohibited, failure to stop after an accident, two counts of failure to comply and break and enter.
