The Town of Prescott is putting out a call for community builders. Nominations are now open for the 2020 Community Awards. The deadline to submit is March 27.
Deputy Clerk Lindsey Veltkemp says it’s a simple process. She noted the application is confidential and people just need to indicate who they wish to nominate, along with a list of accomplishments. Veltkemp explained the nominations will be reviewed by a committee of council members to select the award recipients.
People can submit nominations for three different categories: Citizen of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Business of the Year.
Veltkemp says its important for the town to recognize volunteers and the things people do for the community. She noted it takes a small amount of time to put in an application to recognize the people who work so hard for the community.
The award ceremony will take place later this year and recipients will receive plaques.
