Marty Brayman Hockey Fund benefits three kids

The Marty Brayman Kids Hockey Fund was born of tragedy, but has made a positive impact in three lives to date. The fund was established in September to honour the memory of Master Corporal Marty Brayman, who died following an assault in Florida.

Joel Brayman, Marty’s dad, says the dollars are being put to good use. The fund has already covered registration and equipment costs for three kids to play hockey.

The plan is to help four more this year, according to Brayman. He explained the purpose of the fund is to provide long-term support, spanning at least three years, to ensure the kids can keep playing hockey.

Brayman noted he’s receiving updates about the recipients of the funds, including photos of the kids playing hockey. He says it’s encouraging to see the impact firsthand.

Brayman explained Marty loved hockey and he would be proud to see what’s being done in his memory.

The family is working with Big Brothers Big Sisters to identify kids in need. People can also submit requests directly, by emailing [email protected]
