Hiring Fair coming up in Brockville

The Employment + Education Centre (ECC) is hoping to connect job seekers with employers. The 4th annual Hiring Fair is set for February 27 at the Brockville Memorial Centre. It runs from 3:00 to 6:00pm. 

Kira Merritt, ECC Marketing Coordinator, says you don’t have to register and staff will be on site to point people in the right direction, depending on what type of employment they’re looking for. She noted around 40 employers will be on site, including Little Caesars, G. Tackaberry & Sons and Bayshore Home Health. 

Merritt explained there’s a lot of demand locally for the skilled trades and labourers, along with hospitality and customer service. 

People should show up dressed to impress and with several copies of their resume, according to Merritt. She says the ECC offers a wide range of employment services, at no cost. 

Merritt explained the Hiring Fair is a great opportunity for people to meet employers face-to-face. She noted job seekers can get lost in the online application world and this is a way to stand out from the crowd.
