Prescott resident arrested following dispute with tow truck company

Edit: The incident happened at 1:30am on Tuesday according to Prescott’s Building and By-Law Services Manager.

A 30-year-old from Prescott was arrested following an incident with a local tow truck company. Grenville County OPP responded to the dispute yesterday around 1:30pm.

The tow company was assisting with snow removal and had towed a vehicle on James Street, according to police. The OPP says the resident got inside the vehicle and started it, after it was strapped onto the flatbed.

Officers told the resident to exit the vehicle and the resident complied. Further investigation showed that the resident owed money to the tow company and had an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to appear at court on outstanding drug charges.

Officers arrested the resident, who paid the outstanding fee to the tow company before leaving.
