Over 40 OPP RIDE checks and one driver charged in South Grenville during the holidays

The OPP says not one person was charged with Impaired Driving between December 14 and January first in South Grenville, during RIDE checks.

Police say on December 27th at approximately 3:30 in the afternoon, a 35-year-old from Edwardsburgh Township was stopped at a RIDE check, on County Road 22, north of Cardinal. OPP say the driver was charged with having no vehicle insurance and with the criminal charge of driving a motor vehicle while prohibited.  Their vehicle was impounded for 45 days and the driver is scheduled to appear at Brockville court on January 24th.

The Prescott detachment of the OPP participated in 41 OPP RIDE checks throughout South Grenville. Around 700 vehicles were stopped and two roadside tests were conducted and five Highway Traffic violation warnings were issued.
