Brockville RONA set to close January 31

Lowe’s announced its closing 34 stores across Canada. RONA Brockville is scheduled to close on January 31, 2020.

According to a press release published today, Lowe’s Companies, Inc. undertook a review of its Canadian operations.

As a result, the company has decided to close ‘underperforming stores,’ undertake a process to simplify multiple Canadian store banners to drive efficiency, reorganize the corporate support structure and rationalize the product assortment across the simplified Canadian store banners.

Tony Cioffi, Interim President of Lowe’s Canada, says while making decisions that impact associates and their families is never easy, closing underperforming stores is a necessary step to ensure the long-term stability and growth of Candian operations.

The RONA in Brockville is located at 550 Stewart Boulevard. It is not known at this time how many jobs will be impacted.

According to Lowe’s, employees affected by the closures will be supported throughout the transition and eligible employees will be offered the opportunity to transfer to a nearby store.
