Crossing guard identified as pedestrian struck

Mayor Brett Todd identified the pedestrian hit by a vehicle in Prescott. The collision happened yesterday afternoon on Boundary Street, at the CN railway tracks.

Todd posted the following on his Facebook page: ‘very sad to hear about the accident this afternoon where town crossing guard Eric Keeler was struck by a vehicle at the Boundary St. CN crossing. Please keep him in your thoughts tonight as he is treated for his injuries in hospital. Wishing him all the best for a fast and full recovery.’

He was transported by Air Ornge, with serious injuries. The driver was also transported to hospital, with non-life threatening injuries.

Boundary Street was closed to traffic for several hours. The OPP continues to investigate.
