Era Cannabis plans 10,000 square foot facility in Kemptville

A second cannabis company is setting up shop in North Grenville. Era Cannabis plans on building a 10,000 square foot facility on Townline Road in Kemptville.

A zoning amendment for the property was recently approved by council and the site plan has been submitted. The goal is to get shovels in the ground next month.

Brothers Nick and Jimmy Xidous, co-CEOs of Era, say this is just phase one. They noted phase two includes a massive expansion, totalling 200,000 square feet. The development will create around 400 full and part-time jobs, ranging from trimmers to security and executives.

Jimmy says the cannabis industry offers an exciting opportunity. He noted it’s not a saturated market and there’s so much growth and development.

The brothers explained Era Cannabis is going to be environmentally friendly, with a focus on quality. They say the facility will maximize space by utilizing vertical farming techniques.

Nick noted Era is going to be very technologically advanced and very energy efficient.

The brothers explained Era’s cultivation licence is in the works with Health Canada. The plan is to offer a full range of products down the road, including edibles.
