Police arrest suspect in two Prescott robberies

A 25-year-old man from Augusta Township has been arrested in connection to two robberies in the Town of Prescott. The accused is also charged with failing to comply with a probation order. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Grenville County OPP are looking for leads from the public in a couple of robberies in Prescott. On Saturday, October 3rd just after 8:00 am, police were called to the Mr. Gas on King Street. A man had entered the store, demanding cash and cigarettes before leaving. The suspect is described as 5’6” to 5’7”, in his 20s or 30s with a pale, sickly complexion and scruffy facial hair.

Just before 6pm the same day, a man entered the Mac’s Convenience Store on Park Street in Prescott. He demanded all the money from the til and left with cash, food and cigarettes. He is described as white, about 5’5” tall, around 25 years old and clean-shaven. No weapons were seen and no one was injured in either incident. Constable Rob Prophet says there are some similarities in the two descriptions and this is part of the ongoing investigation.
